Not
all BioDiesel is the same. Its quality varies according to the
refining process and the feedstock used. Certain properties of
BioDiesel, such as the Cold Filter Plugging Point and Pour Point
can vary considerably, mainly according to the feedstock used
to produce the BioDiesel. In colder climates, such as in Northern
Europe, these properties relate to how "sticky" BioDiesel
is and its consequent ability to flow within the fuel system of
an engine.
These
properties are vital considerations for both our customers and
their end users. Why? Because, put simply, poor quality Biodiesel
can stop and potentially damage an engine with severe consequences
for both distributors and their customers.
Flex
Fuels works to the highest quality. We believe that our customers
and their end users deserve and will expect nothing less than
the best. Therefore Flex Fuels will only use the highest quality
feedstocks.
Flex
Fuels core feedstock is Rape Seed Oil ("RSO")
most of which we plan to extract from the primary farm product
oilseed rape (also known as Canola) at our own dedicated Crush
Plant in Cardiff, Wales.
Why
Rape Seed? RSO is one of the very best feedstocks and the European
Norm (the quality standard, EN14214) was written around it. BioDiesel
produced primarily from RSO has excellent Pour and Cold Filter
Plugging Points and can be safely mixed and used at reasonably
high blends within Europe.
lenders (our customers) can be certain that their brand will not
be damaged by a relatively small component of their overall product.
As such, RSO derived BioDiesel is the natural quality choice for
blenders.
Flex
Fuels will use other environmentally friendly, feedstocks to produce
BioDiesel, blended with RSO to produce quality BioDiesel. Certain
feedstocks will not be used by Flex Fuels, not only because they
produce an inferior product but because some of these feedstocks
have contentious and negative environmental implications, including
carbon balance, social considerations and habitat destruction.

Social Responsibility Policies.
